At the same time, it also puts forward higher requirements for the comprehensive mechanical properties and life of die casting die.

To meet the continuous improvement of the use of performance requirements, only rely on the application of new mold materials is still difficult to meet, it is necessary to apply a variety of surface treatment technology to Die Casting Mould surface treatment, in order to achieve the Die Casting Mould high efficiency, high-precision and high life requirements.

In a variety of molds, Die Casting Mould working conditions are more stringent. Pressure casting is to make molten metal in high pressure, high-speed mold cavity filled with die-casting type, in the work process, repeatedly and hot metal contact, therefore, the request Die Casting Mould with high heat-resistant fatigue, thermal conductivity, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, impact toughness, red hard, good demoulding and so on. In recent years, a variety of Die Casting Mould surface treatment new technology has emerged, but in general, can be divided into the following three major categories:

(1) The improvement technology of traditional heat treatment technology;

(2) Surface modification technology, including: surface thermal expansion treatment, surface phase change hardening, EDM strengthening technology;

(3) coating technology, including electroless plating.

Traditional Die Casting Mould heat treatment process is quenching-tempering, and later developed a surface treatment technology. Because of the variety of materials that can be used as Die Casting Moulds, the same surface treatment technology and technology, the application of different materials will produce different effects. Based on the traditional technology, the pretreatment technology of substrate and surface treatment has been put forward, and the suitable processing technology is put forward on the basis of different mould materials, which can improve the die performance and prolong the die life.

Another development direction of heat treatment technology improvement is to combine the traditional heat treatment technology with advanced surface treatment technology to improve the service life of Die casting die. For example, the chemical heat treatment method of carbon and nitrogen infiltration, combined with the conventional quenching and tempering process, the nqn (i.e., carbon-nitrogen co-osmotic-quenching-carbon-nitrogen co-infiltration) is strengthened, which not only obtains the high surface hardness, but also increases the depth of effective hardening layer, the reasonable gradient distribution of the seepage layer hardness, the tempering stability and corrosion resistance, So that the die-casting die to obtain good heart performance at the same time, surface quality and performance greatly improved. This type includes carburizing, nitriding, boronizing, carbon-nitrogen infiltration, and sulfur-carbon-nitrogen infiltration.
